Quick note Monday night

Hi there!

I have to get the girls to bed, since it must be after midnight! We have to get up early (9 or so!) to get to the airport and pick up Jana.

Two adventures again today! The girls and I found our way to Valdemossa, where Chopin stayed one winter with George Sand. From what she wrote of the experience, they were absolutely miserable here. Not enough heat, a terrible piano to compose on, incompetent doctors, people not treating them well, etc. But if they had been here in June, they would have loved it! You´ll see pictures of the garden right outside the door of their rooms, and the view of the hillside below. Gorgeous! We spent an hour looking around there, and then sat through part of a concert with a man playing Chopin´s pieces on a grand piano in the palace next door.

Then we met up with Mandy and her family at around 2, and we met three other families at a spectacular cove. We stayed there for the rest of the day. Such fun!

We stopped on the way home to see an amazing view, and watched the sunset and then the moonrise. Incredibly beautiful, and the usual perfect weather. This place is really growing on us!

Off to put the girls to bed. They are exhausted from the day, but would rather read than sleep!
